Brain Gym®
Brain Gym because it simply works!
Brain Gym refers to the original 26 Brain Gym movements. These activities are based on natural developmental movements done during the first years of life when we are learning to coordinate the eyes, ears, hands, and whole body. Dr. Paul E. Dennison and his wife and colleague, Gail E. Dennison, originators of Brain Gym, say that the interdependence of movement, cognition, and applied learning is the basis of their work. For decades, clients, teachers, and students have been reporting on the effectiveness of these simple activities. Even though (as has been the case with Western Medicine only recently using advanced technology to confirm the effectiveness of acupuncture), research has not yet revealed “why” these movements work so well, they often bring about dramatic improvements. This simple, yet powerful, program is used by people of all ages and abilities for a variety of reasons in areas such as:
- Concentration
- Attention and Focus
- Memory
- Academics: reading, writing, math
- Physical coordination
- Relationships
- Self-responsibility and behavior
- Organization
- Attitude, self-esteem and confidence
- Test-taking and overall performance
